For his accomplishments as a coach and his volunteer work in the sport of wrestling, being the winningest coach in San Francisco history, hosting hundreds of tournaments, hosting international competitions, and bringing athletes around the world for cutural exchanges, he was awarded a Lifetime Achievement award at the 2016 California Wrestling Hall of Fame.
